We are a team of dedicated high schoolers at South Brunswick High School competiting in the American Rocketry Challenge.
Our Aerospace Team consists of passionate students dedicated to exploring the frontiers of aerospace engineering. Founded in 2023, we've grown from a small group of enthusiasts to a competitive team representing our school at national competitions.
We specialize in designing and building UAVs, rockets, and innovative aerospace solutions. Our diverse team brings together skills in engineering, programming, physics, and design to create cutting-edge projects.
Through teamwork, dedication, and creative problem-solving, we strive to push the boundaries of what student aerospace teams can achieve.
Our TeamsThis is an ongoing project that involves building and testing small-scale liquid rocket engines that utilize gaseous oxygen, and liquid hydrocarbon fuels for propellant. These engines will static fired, meaning they will not be used in a rocket and will instead by fired from a test stand. The engines will be used in independent research.
The American Rocketry Challenge (ARC), sponsored by major aerospace companies, is the largest rocketry competition in the U.S. Over 5,000 students compete, with the top 100 teams launching near D.C. Top national teams visit aerospace facilities and present at Capitol Hill. The best teams advance to the NASA Student Launch, and the top team represents the U.S. internationally.
High Power Rocketry involves the use of rocket motors 160 newton-seconds of impulse or greater, or multiple rocket motors with 320 newton-seconds or greater. Members of SB Aerospace will work on a High Power Rocketry Project during the duration of the school year. This rocket will feature avionics, dynamic control surfaces, and scientific payloads.
